AGM
This year's Annual General Meeting will take place on Wednesday 7th April. This is open to all members and is your opportunity to have your say on how you would like to see the club run. Important issues are discussed and agreed which affect the running of the club. New rules will be decided and committee members elected, so come along and make your vote count.
NEW VENUES .
We are very pleased to announce that we have agreed terms to allow LADAS members to fish Morehouse Farm Fisheries in W. Sussex for £2 per rod per visit. This is instead of the £10 normaly charged. With 3 lakes and carp to 30lbs, this is yet another reason to be part of LADAS. For more details about Morehouse go to www.mhff.co.uk
We have also agreed to an Exchange book partnership with Crawley Angling Society. This will allow LADAS members to fish their waters. For more details call Eric, our membership secretary on 01372 377654.
ASHTEAD PARK - Wildlife pond
A lot happened at Ashtead Park in 2009 as we push to get the wildlife pond open for the membership later this year. EDF energy were back in May and combined with 2 work Parties a lot of silt was removed from the lake. The overflow pond has been completely re-furbished and the paths around the perimiter of the lake have been completely upgraded. Some platforms will be put in and margin plants introduced to improve the water and we aim to clear some of the overhanging trees around the island. Obviously there is still a lot of work to do and work parties need to be well attended, so please come along and join in the fun. There are rewards as well, apart from getting to know the lake much better, anyone who has attended six working parties will be able to test fish before it is opened fully to the membership.

Last year the environment agency undertook some electro fishing to see what we can expect from the lake with some encouraging results. To view their findings just click on this link: Electro Fishing.
OPEN DAY

This years Open Day will take place on Saturday 17th July and we hope it will prove to be as busy as last year.
TOP POND TROPHY MATCH
This year's match will take place on August 21st. This is always a popular event because it is for the pleasure anglers who fish the ponds regularly. It's a fun event with a Bar-B-Que afterwards, where the rest of the family can come and celebrate with the winner and listen to the rest talk about the ones that got away. Speak to Eric and book your place early. Last year our winner Jack DeAlmeida had no trouble bagging a magnificent 45lb 8ozs from his favourite swim. Jack couldn't believe his luck when he drew his swim and he didn't stop smiling all day.
But to prove there is still a lot for us all to learn, Dave Pearson, one of our top matchmen, came along just for fun and filled two nets with over 78lbs.
Everyone who took part enjoyed the day and the social after match Bar-B-Q was better than ever.
LADAS Junior catches monster Perch
On a recent outing on the River Mole Jake Lawrence caught what is probably a new river record Perch whilst spinning for Pike. Although he was with his dad there was no independant witness to verify his catch and can't be claimed as an official record but we are proud to know that the fish is in our waters. The Perch tipped the scales at over five and a half pounds. Congaratulations Jake!
Restocking at Wildlife Pond.
In November last year the Environment agency released 100 small Tench and Crucian Carp into the Wildlife Pond, this was followed in April this year by 50 quality Perch ranging from 8ozs to 1lb. This is part of a restocking programme which we hope will continue over the next two years as the water conditions improve.

BIG BROWNIE
THIS TRULY SPECIMEN BROWN TROUT WAS CAUGHT ON THE FETCHAM STRETCH OF THE MOLE ON 23RD JANUARY 2005.
And it didn't take one of our matchmen to catch it.
Although his dad is holding the fish, it was in fact caught by 9 year old Jack Munnings.
Congratulations Jack! everyone wishes it had been their fish.
