Can I fish all of the LDAS waters on my membership?
Yes, our waters are at Bookham , Ashtead and the river Mole at Fetcham and Leatherhead.
Our 'Ponds are open all year, 365 days, but the river has a closed season from 15th March to 15th June each year.

Can I bring my son or daughter who is six years old to fish?
Yes. Any Junior six or under may fish without joining, but only if accompanied by an adult member at all times.
What age can juniors join?
We have two Junior categories: 7 - 12 and 12 - 17. All Juniors under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a adult member.
Do you offer any tuition?
Yes, we have club Coach who can arrange a tuition session with you.
Do I need a licence?
Children under 13 do not need a licence. Licences for children aged between 13 and 16 are free. You’ll still need to get a junior licence. Further information can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/fishing-licences
Which is the best LDAS venue to start as a novice?
Our waters at Long Copse, Bookham, have a good stock of many varieties of fish and you are sure to catch anything from roach to carp.
Do you have access for disabled members?
Parking at Long Copse, Bookham, is close to the water, and paths have been laid to assist members in wheelchairs.
What tackle do I need?
The very minimum is either a rod and reel, or pole if preferred, but ALL members MUST use a Landing Net and Unhooking Mat and only use Barbless Hooks. See all Rules here
What is the best bait to use?
There are a very wide variety of baits depending on several factors: Time of year, method, and species you want to catch. If just starting out try Sweetcorn, Spam (from tins) soft pellets or bollies. Your local Tackle Shop will be able to give further advise.
